Why this matters here
Jamaican online merchants tend to serve two audiences at once. There are customers at home paying in Jamaican dollars, and there is a large diaspora in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom buying goods, booking services and sending things back. Those overseas transactions are the ones payment processors flag hardest.
That makes 3D Secure 2.0 more than a compliance checkbox. It shifts liability for fraudulent chargebacks away from you and onto the card issuer on authenticated transactions, and the newer protocol does it without the clumsy password page that used to cost merchants abandoned carts. For a store taking a meaningful share of cross-border orders, that difference shows up directly in revenue.
The plugin runs 3D Secure 2.0 on every transaction where your Scotiabank configuration calls for it, in an embedded form that keeps the customer on your checkout instead of bouncing them to an unfamiliar page.
We are expanding the preferred partner network into Jamaica. If your agency builds WooCommerce stores for merchants here, the partner programme includes development licences and priority support.
How it works
Merchant services at Scotiabank Jamaica handle the application. Ask specifically for eCom+ and, if you want to take US dollars, confirm that USD is enabled on the account at the same time rather than after the fact.
Install the free build from WordPress.org, enter your sandbox credentials and run the test cards. Include a 3D Secure challenge in your testing so you know exactly what your overseas customers will see.
Swap in live credentials, place a small real transaction, and confirm it settles into your merchant account. Then turn on refunds and captures from the WooCommerce order screen.
