Which plugin do you need?

It depends on which payment gateway your merchant account runs on. Your bank usually recommends one when you apply, so the bank you choose is the best clue. These are the acquiring banks operating in Turks and Caicos and the gateways they typically recommend.

Plugin available now

Scotiabank

Scotiabank merchants use the eCom+ gateway, and our plugin for it is available today with modal checkout and 3D Secure 2.0. Ask Scotiabank to enable API access for refunds and captures, and tokenization with recurring payments if you want saved cards or subscriptions.

Why this matters here

The one territory with no currency problem at all.

Turks and Caicos uses the US dollar as its official currency. That removes an entire category of friction that merchants elsewhere in the region spend real effort managing. Your visitors are quoted in dollars, they pay in dollars, and you settle in dollars. There is no conversion step and therefore no exchange spread quietly taken along the way.

This is precisely where aggregators look least attractive. Their usual pitch is convenience, but the convenience is largely about handling currency and onboarding. When neither is a problem, what remains is a percentage of every sale and a holding period of a week or more before you can touch your own revenue. For a villa manager or tour operator with seasonal cash flow, that delay is the expensive part, not the fee.

Going direct to your bank means funds settle into your own merchant account on the bank’s settlement schedule, and the only per-transaction cost is the bank’s own merchant rate under your agreement.

Deposits and balances

Pre-authorization lets you hold a deposit at booking and capture the balance later, or void it entirely if plans change. It runs from the WooCommerce order screen.

How it works

From application to first live payment.

01

Get an e-commerce merchant account

Ask your bank’s merchant services team for online card acceptance, confirm which gateway the account runs on, and request API access so refunds and captures work from WooCommerce.

02

Test free in sandbox

Install our free sandbox build and run the supplied test cards through a full booking, including a refund, before the season starts rather than during it. Every feature is unlocked in sandbox, so nothing is held back from testing.

03

Go live

Swap in live credentials, take one small real transaction, and confirm settlement with the bank.
