Block checkout support

The plugin supports both the classic WooCommerce checkout and the newer block-based checkout. You do not need to choose one to use the gateway.

What works in both

• The embedded Scotiabank payment field.
• 3D Secure 2.0 authentication.
• Saved cards, on the Premium plan.
• All order-side actions: refunds, captures and voids.

Which should you use?

If your store already works on the classic checkout, there is no payment-related reason to migrate. If you are building new, the block checkout is where WooCommerce development is heading.

If you switch

Retest the full payment flow after changing checkout type. Checkout customisations, particularly custom fields and any code hooked into the classic checkout, frequently do not carry over. The payment step is usually fine; it is the fields around it that break.

Troubleshooting

If the payment method does not appear on a block checkout, confirm the plugin is up to date, then confirm the gateway is enabled under Payments. Some older checkout customisations block payment methods from registering, so test with other plugins disabled if it is not appearing.
